I made Bold Perspective from a foundation based on these four words: assured, creative, considered and strategic. I didn't just pluck them from the air; they're baked into my approach to helping others thrive, and I believe they can make a fundamental difference in achieving growth in any business.

Keep reading to explore each of the four pillars. Learn why they became the fabric of Bold Perspective, and more importantly, why you should care about them.

Be Assured

Being assured isn't just about confidence; it's about owning your expertise, decisions, and embracing a mindset that pushes you—and others—forward.

Here are some examples of how being assured in your actions can give you an advantage:

  1. Decision-making: When we're assured in our abilities, it reflects in our decision-making. It enables us to make informed choices, take calculated risks, and navigate challenges with clarity.

  2. Resilience: In today's ever-evolving landscape, assurance acts as a shield against uncertainty. It fuels resilience, allowing us to adapt and grow – even when things get tough.

  3. Professional relationships: Being assured exudes credibility and reliability, building trust. Clients, colleagues, and partners are drawn to individuals who radiate assurance.

  4. Leadership: Embodying assurance will help you to inspire teams, instilling a sense of direction and purpose. Use it to empower others and push boundaries.

  5. Continuous growth: Assured individuals are open to learning and evolving. They recognise their strengths while acknowledging areas for improvement, consistently striving for growth.

Be Creative

Creativity and innovation go hand-in-hand. As we navigate the ever-evolving business landscape, fostering a culture of creativity can make a huge impact. I do have creative industry experience from running an agency, but rest assured, being creative isn't only for 'creative people':

  1. Innovation: Creativity is the catalyst for innovation. It propels us to think beyond the norm, challenge conventions, and pave the way for groundbreaking solutions .

  2. Adaptability: In times of change, creativity enables adaptability. It breeds resilience by encouraging us to explore new approaches and embrace uncertainty with confidence.

  3. Market differentiation: Creative thinking sets businesses apart in crowded marketplaces, captivates audiences, and creates compelling brand stories that resonate.

  4. Problem-solving: Being creative equips us with diverse problem-solving skills. It encourages us to think outside the box and find innovative solutions.

  5. Continuous improvement: Embracing creativity fosters a culture of ongoing improvement. It helps us to become receptive to new ideas, feedback, and evolution. In other words, it's part of a growth mindset. .

  6. Inspiration and collaboration: A creative approach can inspire collaboration and encourage diverse perspectives, leading to richer outcomes.

Be Considered

The ability to make considered decisions, no matter how small, holds the potential to shape outcomes and drive progress. Bear in mind, however, that being seen to be overly considered might be mistaken for hesitancy, so be sure to communicate with others if you need time to formulate a response or action. Here's how being more considered can make a real difference in your business:

  1. Strategic alignment: Considered decisions align with broader strategies. They reflect a deep understanding of organisational goals, ensuring actions move in the right direction and don't go off-track.

  2. Risk mitigation: Deliberation minimises risks. It involves weighing alternatives, analysing potential outcomes and pitfalls before taking action.

  3. Long-term impact: Considered decisions prioritise long-term gains over short-term wins. They're rooted in foresight, considering implications beyond immediate results.

  4. Resource planning: By carefully evaluating options, considered decisions can help you to optimise resources. They maximize efficiency and prevent wastage.

  5. Building trust and confidence: Thoughtful decisions instil trust. They give a sense of confidence, earning credibility among peers and stakeholders. This is especially true when considered decisions are made under high-pressure circumstances, where it can be easy to rush and make the wrong choice.

Be Strategic

Being strategic sets the stage for achieving long-term goals and helps to illustrate your vision. Through my own experiences, finding a balance between strategic thinking and managing immediate productivity is critical – regardless of what resources you may or may not have around you. Top takeaways about the importance of being strategic in your approach:

  1. Clarity of purpose: Strategic thinking brings clarity. It aligns actions with overarching goals, ensuring that every step contributes to the bigger picture.

  2. Adaptability in uncertainty: Strategic minds navigate uncertainty with agility. They anticipate changes, identify opportunities, and pivot when needed.

  3. Innovation: Strategic thinking fuels innovation. It encourages exploration, experimentation, and a forward-thinking approach that disrupts norms and drives progress.

  4. Risk management: Strategic thinkers can assess risks and opportunities. They make calculated decisions, balancing possible outcomes.

  5. Better leadership: Strategic leaders inspire teams. Their vision and ability to articulate a strategic direction motivates and aligns everyone toward common objectives.

Having the ability to think about the bigger picture, alongside the day-to-day operations of a busy start-up or scale-up business, is hugely important for maintaining sustainable growth. These 4 Pillars make up the Bold Perspective approach because they meant something to me, and had already been part of who I was and how I tackled challenges. Even just as an exercise, I'd recommend thinking about your own Pillars, and how'd you go about narrowing them down - the options are almost endless! Hopefully, they can help give you some perspective.
